This is very hard to detail, with the sculpt being over 6ft tall!
The colour difference is so that I can see where the fur is meant to be raised. The colour of the raised fur will be vibrant, this is for pairing his mate, the female’s colours adapt to match her life partner (this lets all other merfolk know they are taken).
The shear size of the tail shows how they rank in the merfolk world & strength. This is the largest of the merfolk, as this is the ruler of the ocean
There will be raised fur down the back centre.
The artist at work, having to be careful about H & S at work. I am having to stand on the work bench to reach this 🙈
